Birth Photography. The beginning of everything.

There are moments in life that change you forever. The moment you meet your baby is one of them. The anticipation, the strength, the uncertainty, the overwhelming love and those first precious seconds when the world seems to stand still. Birth is raw, powerful and entirely its own story. It deserves to be remembered just as it unfolds.

My approach to birth photography is gentle, unobtrusive and rooted in connection. I'm there to document your story as it happens, preserving the moments, the emotions and the little details that might otherwise become a blur in the weeks and months that follow. From the reassuring squeeze of a hand to the first time you hold your baby close, these are the memories that will take you back to the very beginning.

Not just photographs of the day your baby was born, but a reminder of how it felt to be there.

Your birth, your story. Your birth, your story.

There is no right way for it to unfold, no perfect set of circumstances and no expectation for it to look a certain way. My role is not to direct or interrupt, but to quietly document your experience as it happens, allowing you and your birth partner to remain present in the moment.

Whether you're planning a home birth, a hospital birth or a birth centre experience, I'll work with you to understand your wishes, your preferences and the moments that matter most to you. I'll capture the atmosphere of your birth, the strength and emotion of your journey, the people who support you and those first incredible moments with your baby.

The result is an honest, emotive collection of photographs that tells the story of your baby's arrival, preserving the details you may not have had the chance to notice and the memories you'll want to return to for years to come.

Birth

A calm presence when it matters most.

I understand that inviting a photographer into your birth space is a deeply personal decision. You deserve to feel safe, supported and completely at ease.

Before your baby's arrival, we'll spend time getting to know one another, discussing your birth preferences and talking through the moments you'd love to have documented. We'll cover practical considerations, your wishes around photography and how I can best support the environment you want to create.

During your birth, I work quietly and respectfully, following your lead and remaining mindful of your space, your birth partner and your care team's priorities. Your experience will always come first. I work around your birth rather than asking your birth to work around me. There is no need to perform, pose or worry about how things look. My focus is on preserving the real moments, exactly as they happen.

The moments you'll want to remember. Birth photography is about much more than the moment your baby arrives.

It's the anticipation as you prepare to meet them. The familiar hands that hold yours. The quiet encouragement, the deep breaths and the strength you find within yourself. It's the first cry, the first touch, the first time you look into your baby's eyes and the tiny details of the person you've waited so long to meet.

These moments pass in a heartbeat, often in a beautiful, overwhelming blur. Photographs give you the opportunity to return to them. To see the things you might have missed. To remember your own strength and to share your baby's birth story with them as they grow.

One day, these photographs may become part of your child's understanding of how they came into the world and just how loved they were from the very beginning.

A considered, personal experience, dedicated to documenting one of the most significant chapters of your family's story.

Before we meet your baby

Birth photography requires a little more planning and preparation than other sessions. We'll arrange a conversation before your due date to discuss your birth plans, the practicalities of your chosen birth setting and what matters most to you.

I'll also explain how on-call arrangements work, when to contact me and what happens if your birth unfolds differently than expected. While birth can never be entirely predictable, my aim is to help you feel informed, reassured and supported throughout the process. Above all, I want you to feel that you can be fully present in your birth, knowing that the story is being documented with care and respect.

The beginning of your family's story.

Your baby will only be born once. The anticipation, the first meeting and the extraordinary emotions of those early moments cannot be recreated. If birth photography feels like something you'd love to have as part of your story, I'd love to hear from you. Let's talk about your hopes for your birth and how we can preserve these memories for you.
